It is designed to meet international requirements and to facilitate travels abroad. The Swedish government has decided that covid certificates can be issued digitally.

How does it work with covid certificates and negative covid tests?

Even if you are not vaccinated you can still get a covid certificate, given that you take a negative covid test. However, there are some guidelines to get your covid certificate after testing.

The test must be taken recently and performed by certified healthcare personnel or other qualified testing personnel. Self-tests are not valid. The caregiver must be affiliated with the covid certificate service. At the website for e-Hälsomyndigheten (Swedish eHealth Agency) you can see which caregivers are affiliated. Please remember to check which rules are in place in the country that you are going to visit. It is up to every country to decide how long a negative covid test is valid for.

When you have taken your test and the outcome is negative, the result is sent to e-Hälsomyndigheten(Swedish eHealth Agency), where a covid certificate is issued automatically. If you have a digital mailbox, like Kivra, the result is sent there directly.

The covid certificate consists of a QR code, information on the vaccine, date for vaccination or covid test along with your personal information.

How do I travel with my covid certificate?

The covid certificate makes it easier if you want to travel within the EU. You show your covid certificate in connection to the ID check and you need to have your covid certificate available during the entire stay.

It is up to every country to decide what applies for entry into the country and you are personally responsible to check that you live up to the rules for entry.

How long is the covid certificate valid?

Covid certificate you received before 30 September is valid for 90 days.
Covid certificate receive between 1 October and 31 December 2021 is valid for 180 days.

What do I do to get my covid certificate in Kivra?

Within seven days after you have been vaccinated, it is reported to the national vaccination registry (Nationella vaccinationsregistret), at which point you can order your certificate. You will need BankID or other valid Swedish digital ID to log in to the site.

The covid certificate is sent automatically to your Kivra in the form of a QR code together with your personal information, information on your vaccine and the time when you got vaccinated. When you have received your covid certificate it is stored together with your other important stuff and it is available to show whenever you need to, even when you don’t have an internet connection.

I have Kivra and I have taken a third shot of COVID-19 vaccine. Will the new covid certificate be sent to me via Kivra?

To get your new certificate in Kivra after shot number three, you need to order a new one from e-Hälsomyndigheten, in the same way that you ordered it before. For more questions regarding the covid certificate, please contact e-Hälsomyndigheten.

How do I bring the covid certificate with me?

Accepted Answer

If you download Kivra’s app you have your covid certificate in your mobile phone, wherever you are. In the app you can also make your certificate available when you are not connected to the internet. Then the proof of your vaccination is displayed on your home screen at Kivra.

Jag har hämtat mitt nya covidbevis, men det gamla ligger kvar i Kivra. Hur ska jag göra?

Du får själv ta bort ditt gamla covidbevis från Kivra när du ska ladda upp ett nytt. Det nya kommer inte in automatiskt utan du måste gå in på e-hälsomyndighetens webbsida och ladda ner det.
